I used 3 thermometers and 2 were the same so I went with one of those. but I used a digital one occasionally to double check. the digital also had a humidity sensor that calibrated exactly with the one that came on the incubator. Did you see the pictures I posted with the thread on the Hatching thread and the turkey thread? The embryos were at all different stages of development but not rotten?

Hello :frow Welcome To BYC and Happy Holidays! Sorry about your hatch. Did you happen to notice if there was any relation to the development and where the egg was in the incubator, does it have cold spots? When you candled them while they were incubating, did you notice the uneven development all along the line when you knew they were still alive? Sometimes they can be dead for awhile and not look rotten when you open them up... so were they actually just dying at different times or were they developing unevenly?

I don't know. My incubator has a circulating fan so I don't think it was hot spots. That was my first ever hatch. Next time I will pay more attention to the things you mentioned. Thanks for you help. I started another hatch a couple of days ago. We'll will have to wait and see what happens this time. Trying to learn all I can.

WELCOME!!!
(Can't remember if I already welcomed you or not... Oh well, two welcomings won't hurt!)
Although nobody likes graphic pictures, sometimes they can be helpful in determining the cause of situations like this.

I don't have any experience with hatching so sorry I cannot offer advice. If you need to post graphic pictures - do so, it's good to Mention: GRAPHIC PHOTOS at the beginning of a post, so the squeamish can bail out before going any farther.
