some polish do not roost if they have a large crest of feathers because it blocks their vision. If you carefully got some back - you may find he will see well enough to use the roost. Silkies have the same problem so they usually pile up in a corner on the floor.
 
Welcome to BYC! You may keep having to place the rooster on the perch until he gets the idea, also if his crest is blocking his vision try trimming it back with scissors. Good luck to you.
 
We have only 5 at the most of any 1 breeds, We have a heater in our coop that is for a reptiels ,it looks like a flite light bub. It keeps it about 45 to 60 dg in it all winter. our coop is 8 * 8 * 8hi so you can put in a coner ,thothing to full.It ony cast about35 dollar and uses very little elc.
We are makind a duck hose this weekend. fun just dont know how big to make it? any one we have13 ducks?
 
thank you i do have 2 silkie but they have there own little house they share with the femail polish, she like them better ,lol.I just fell sorry for him all the other birds are in the coop or on a root. there night time pen is inclosed and has a steel roof.they can go in and out as the went, the pen is heated too.
 
is that a frizzel? I had main for 5 yrs she passed 3 weeks ago . I love her she was so sweet.I cryed for2 day and Im caring now just thinking of her
