Hi, I have some 'weird' questions to ask regarding to male/female chicks.
1. are there any differences regarding to their temperament/characters?
2. Can you identify a chick's gender that is almost a week old? or is it even possible to tell?
3. I currently have 2 chicks, one of them seem dominant/active and knows it's name and loves me a lot smh, while the other one is completely different, I love it as well and it's more gentle and somehow docile(they both love each other tho and share spaces) For this question, does it have anything to do with gender or it's just about every chicken is unique and have different personalities?

Thanks a lot :)

Each bird has a different personality. I have found many of my male chicks have been quieter, and often more cuddly, but that's just an observation.

Unless the chicks have been specifically bred to be easily sexable, eg; sex-linked, auto sexing, feather sexable, no, you cannot tell the sex by that age.
At 5 weeks you might get a rough idea, and be sure by 12+ weeks.

It could be partially breed related, partially gender related, and mainly just individual personality.
It's not a fool-proof way to tell gender, that's for sure.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to BYC.
