Hi I have buff Orpingtons. They are 7 wks. old and they are on chick starter. Was wondering if they should be switched to other food by the time they are 8 wks. old. I have 5 other chickens and they are 9 yrs. old, so to be honest I forgot when I started my old ones on the different food. I could use some help with this question, I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Welcome to BYC!

Ideally they should be on a medicated starter from 0-8 weeks, a non-medicated grower from 8-16 weeks, and a layer from 16-18+ weeks and on for the rest of the hen's life. You may want to switch them back to grower during the 1-2 month period of their yearly molt.
