I love my Shamo i think his not a pure breed because some one told me that you can see the pure breed in their feet. But I'm not totally curious about that as long as i have my own shamo.

Is it ok if i use leash to my shamo?
Is it ok if he eat rice?

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. If you put your Shamo on a leash, be sure and use a harness. Do not just put the leash around it's neck. You can feed him cooked rice, but do not feed him uncooked rice as it will swell in him when he drinks water. Also, I would limit the amount of cooked rice you give him. Treats, like starchy foods, should make up less than 10 % of a chicken's diet or they will become fat and unhealthy. It's like us eating potato chips and candy bars. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Shamo.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Love those Shamos! They have such a pretty stance! Michael has set you straight on the using a harness instead of a leash and to feed cooked rice only.

Enjoy your beautiful bird and welcome to our flock!
