Hello and welcome back Linda. I love the cuteness of that mottled goat. Good luck on your hatch.Hi, my name is Linda. I was on this site years ago and have referenced it a couple of times since but now trying to incubate some chicken eggs. Living in the country, we've lost so many chickens and ducks to local wildlife (foxes, coyotes, hawks, and most recently a hoot owl). However, we continue to try.
Currently, we have 3 nigerian pygmy goats, 2 Rhode Island Red Hens, 3 Brahma hens and 3 Brahma roosters, 2 older Pekin ducks and 2 young Pekin ducks (I believe 1 is a male because it whistles). In the last week or 2, we've lost 5 ducks to the hoot owl.
Our son purchased the Little flying saucer intelligent Incubator for us to try and incubate eggs for the first time. I've never candled an egg and put a post with picture to try and get help in identifying if good or not.
I'll attach a few pics of our animals here. I look forward to learning and sharing with y'all.
PS: I love the last pictures with mama hen and chicks and the rooster we had. Unfortunately, coyotes and hawks got all.
