My grandparents raised chickens when I was a child but I'd neverkept birds myself.

I've been obsessively researching chicken keeping for over a year, since I became interested in chickens for eggs and fertilizer.

I purchased my first six chicks from a local feed store this spring. I think the breeds are Cuckoo Maran, Wyandotte and Easter Egger.

I love taking pictures of my chickens in the garden and I can't wait for eggs this summer!
