Hi, I'm Cam!

Hi! :frow Welcome to your new favorite site!

There is plenty to learn and plenty places to learn it here. I suppose a backyard is a requirement to have backyard chickens, but you can certainly enjoy talking chicken in our chat threads.

@SirBluebird - Welcome to BYC! :welcome

Though you may not have a flock of your own now, it's great to see you've joined and are willing to learn more before eventually getting chickens! You couldn't have picked a better, more helpful community to be a part of to hear the experiences of other chicken keepers. Any questions you may have or tips you want to learn, if you can't find it in past forum posts or articles, just ask away!

Welcome! It’s nice to have you here. May I interest you in some quail? :D
Tiny and quiet, you can keep several Coturnix quail in a guinea pig cage. At six to eight weeks, you will see cute little eggs in the cage. :celebrate They taste like chicken eggs, and are great for salads and pickling! Of course, they work in the usual ways too. Amazon sells scissors for quickly cutting open the tops.

Nice to meet you! I tell this to so many people, but hey Buff Orpingtons. They are not only the easiest, fluffiest, friendliest chickens ever, but they also lay these big brown eggs abs are perfect for beginners. I suggest getting half grown hens, pullets, to start with. Good luck!
