Hello everyone! soo I am a 32 year old mama of 2 girls and my baby son! I am also a duck and chicken mama! I have a mixed flock and this is my 3rd year with chicken and my second with duckies I am still learning so so much. I am a michigander and experiencing the challenges of cold weather homesteading. However i really very much the great lake state. I am still very much a novice and will take any advice or knowledge! My flock has come from a tractor store annnnd i got in a argument with the lady because i am pretty sure she gave me the wrong breed of chicks.. she assured me i got Jersey Giants buut I think they are Australorps... le sigh. They dont look like my others. but i have so many breeds anyway so we will find out!

Hi Cat,
Ya... Michigan winters are long... thankfully ours is almost over.
My crocus are blooming, and eggs production is up.
I to love jersey Giants, but Astralorps are nice also.
My experiance is tractor supply staff are not very knowlegable, if fact they have p! $$€d me off big time with some absouletly stupid advice to others.
