Hi, I'm Kathleen from CT...

It's so nice to meet you, Kathleen. It sounds like you're ready for your new feathered kids. Surely, you will love yours as much as this BYC group does theirs. Be sure to ask questions when you are unsure of something. Good, solid assistance will come along very quickly.
Much appreciated Daisy June. I feel blessed to have landed in here!

Your welcome! Do you have a run for them or are you going to free range? They should be fully feathered, if so I would let them out! Let them get start getting used to their new home!
Do they’ll be 6 weeks. I have a good sized enclosed pen and an enclosed little “travel” pen for 3-4 at a time. Will take turns and move them around each day when I’m working in yard/gardens. Nervous about pure free ranging as many locals have lost their flocks to sneaky fast fox or bold hawks. We have bears that jump the pool fence and walk around pool looking for food. They don’t care if we’re out eating on the patio. Very bold. I’m thinking they stay in the coop at night and each day the first week they have a little free “run” time, then go back in. I do want to try to slowly start bonding if it’s not too late. Sorry - long answer! 😋

Free ranging here is not doable, neighbors with dogs.
The bear thing sounds kind of scary. We don`t have hears here. The usual, coyotes, fox, possums, raccoons and skunks. They will want to be in the coup at night to feel secure. Never too late to start bonding! Take baby steps and they will respond! Have fun!
