Hi! I'm new here from Midcoast ME

BTW hoping to get my own Roomba for my upcoming birthday. My son and my brother both have one.
Oh man, if you can swing it DEFINITELY do it! I got mine on Prime Day last year (on amazon) for a decently discounted price and I have no regrets! It doesn't fare well with my long haired cat so I still regular vacuum too though... :) Happy early birthday!!

Welcome to BYC! I like your pictures. What was moving with chickens like? I've thought about that, as I hope to move out of here someday, and hopefully into somewhere I could have a bigger flock.
In all fairness, moving with them wasn't the best...because the move was unexpected and at the time all I had was a Chevy Cruze. Thankfully they were only 4 weeks old, so I packed them in a small plastic tote with wire fixed to the cover for air and just hoped for the best. They behaved well in the backseat with my pitbull, while the cat sat up front in her carrier. Now that I have a Silverado, I think it would be 10x easier...I think if there is some planning put into the move and not just a weird "ok i'm leaving" sort of scenario, it would be fine! And besides, it's the best thing that's ever happened to me! I love my home and my hens have a safe yard!

SO glad you have a good yard for your hens. Yes, doing it at 4 weeks old sounds ideal.

When we moved out to Texas, 16 years ago this September, I was heavily pregnant, had a toddler, had 4 cats stuffed into 2 carriers, and 2 harps in the car, one floor harp and one lap harp, because you can't send those through the moving trucks .... and we couldn't leave the cats and the harps out in the heat of the car to go in for meal stops. At least we had a van for it ...
