Taylorbird So glad to know a fellow georgian too!!
I was excited that you have pigeons as i do too and have always wanted Satinettes and Figurita's
The Man in forest Park is his last name Vaughn if it is i know him and he is very dishonest. He made the rounds at all the chicken auctions summer before last and sold alot of bogus birds. I bought what he told me was a pair of blondenettes and they turned out to be males and weren't even blondenettes.
I tried and tried to get him to replace them or refund my money and he kept putting me off and finaly stopped answering my calls
I found out he had done this at several of the auctions passing off bogus birds and disappearing.
He also claimed he breed them when in fact he gets them for free advertiseing in papers for free animals. Thats not the only thing i was told that some of his birds came from a labratory where they use them to test things. So some of his birds may be infertile or have deformed young. So i would stay away from him because in my honest opinion he can't be trusted.
You said you got your birds from him are they what he said they were?? You said they were hard to breed satinettes are known to be easy breeders and so are figurita's don't understand that.
I only got one pair of sats from him, I got my other pair from a trusted friend, so I know those are good birds. My sisters wanted the figs.....and yes they are from him. I haven't had any problems so far, exept the fact that they won't breed
I have great show quality sats from the other guy. I go to one of the auctions he used to go to a lot, if I buy birds there I don't sell them or thier young. I know you can't trust the breeds that run through there. You are guessing at what you're getting.
So Sorry you met him i didn't know he was still out there doing this
I trusted him and so did some of my friends and all he did was take our money and probably laughed as he walked away.
Sorry you are haveing a problems with them knowing him they could be very old or from the Lab.
I was so hopeing i had found a breeder
It's been hard finding good birds and when i saw you had figurita's and satineetes i got so excited
Well will you be breeding and selling any Satinettes
i will trade!
Which Auction do you go to i know of barnsville, alto, bradley wayside, metters.
I go to the auction alot and buy some things but i know who i'm buying from it pays to get to know the sellers and breeders.
I also sell at the flea market and you have to have a license to sell there and i have used the old market bulletin once or twice.
I mainly raise old english bantams and i have 50 of those and 17 pigeons and
I go to the auction in Barnesville, mainly because that's where my friends are........I have an add in the Farmer's Bulleton right now for chicks. I will sell some satinettes, I would like $50 a pair, that's what they cost me. I don't want to sell any, but I will for that price. Once I get an established flock of them I will start selling them regularly. I do breed GOOD sats that I got from my friend. I haven't bred the birds I bought from Daniel Vaughn. My birds are healthy and banded. They are show quality. You can check out the Racing Pigeon Club that I'm a member of. The GARPC at www.garpc.org I've been a member there for years now. Lots of great people race homers.
