Hi, I am new to the site and very excited to get some great tips from everyone here. I'm starting my first chicken raising experience this year. I'm reading "the idiots guide to raising chickens" and it's been very helpful but I'm sure I will have a TON of additional questions. I've already read a few threads that are very informative. I'm sure you all will be seeing a lot more of me around theses parts. ;)

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Hi, I'm getting my first chicks in a few weeks so I've been doing a lot of hunting around for coops. I've seen so many different kinds now that I'm getting overwhelmed. Can anyone give me a list of a few of the most inmportant things to look for in a coop? We are going to have 6-8 chickens. Thanks!
