I've never raised Americanas and they come in a variety of colors. Many of our other greeters have and might be able to offer some thoughts.

BYC can be a bit daunting at first. If you pull down the menu button, top left, then click on forums, this will take you to a list of all the forums. While in the menu, click on articles and this will take you to our learning center. Tons of great articles on all the aspects of keeping poultry. Just start clicking on tabs and eventually you will figure it all out.
