Hi, My name is Thiga Nelson from Kenya. I have been interested in rearing chickens since as a young boy, seeing my father rare chickens was my fascination. I got used to the idea of rearing chickens and always wanted to do it on my own. Its not until recently that i managed to aquire some few birds that i actualized my passion. Having landed on this site many years ago as i was making my research and fueling my passion i became aware of the many breeds available for free range, some of which are exotic in Kenya and some cannot be found. Currently i have 6 birds, sifting through the breeds in your website i'm informed that i have a Rhodebar (Hen and Cock), i have 2 New Hampshire Cocks, a Plymouth hen and a Legbar hen. I'm not so sure about the accuracy of what i've read and what i see in my birds abut i bet i'm pretty close to the right pair.

It seems you have too many males to the number of females to keep the females from becoming overbred and wearing out their feathers.

Thank you for the comment. They have been together since hatching they go in pairs and i'm learning i should practice culling but they are only 18 weeks. But they just look too cute together three couples, LOL
