Hi I'm new here

Hello, thought i would introduce myself. I am a 37 year old house wife, mother of two. My husband and I are hoping to get land soon and I am thinking of raising chickens. I owned geese when i was younger and my parents had chickens for awhile. I own cats, dogs, mini donkeys, and a horse. I have owned and been around just about every kind of animal. We are looking to buy land either near phoenix az or here where we currently live in iowa. I am thinking of getting silkies, polish and ameracana chickens. Are these good choices? Any information would be a great help.
