I have gotten good info from your forums before, so I thought it was time to join so I could share what measly knowledge I have. My name is Rebecca and right now I have black Marans and some guinea fowl.

Hi, my black Marian will not lay! She's a freeloader, luckily she's adorable and the others lay so I don't mind! Welcome to BYC

Ha, I thought it was just my Marans who were freeloaders! Mine aren't very old but only give me an egg a week. They eat bugs so, they can stay.

How old are your Marans, are you certain all are pullets?

I have about 20 Marans right now. most are young, 4 months old. They appear to be pullets. The three eldest are two years, they're the only ones laying now, but I hope for better breakfasts soon!

Welcome to BYC, Rebecca. Glad you decided to join our flock. I don't know much about Guineas, but I sure like the chocolate eggs of the Marans. I hope yours start laying more soon. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
