My introduction:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family first got chickens back in the summer of 2011, when my dad decided to rescue 10 warrens,

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Well, 3 years on and we are the proud owners of 100 and something hens and roos.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Warren, Light Sussex, Buff Sussex, Crested Cream Legbar, Exchequer Leghorn, 1xExchequer Star & 2xExchequer Leghorn (we think these three hens are bantams), Cuckoo Maran, Copper Black Maran, French Wheaton Maran, Bluebell, Wellsummer and New Hampshire Red.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Researching breeds online.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love horse riding, reading, writing, playing with my dogs and helping on our farm.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share

I'm the eldest of three children, apparently I'm the friendliest, which is why I'm 'in charge' of this account which will be used by all five of my family. We live on a farm, which is owned as a business by my Granddad, Grandmother, Father and Uncle and is worked by them (minus my Grandmother, who retired years ago) and five farm hands.

My Uncle started to keep chickens with my cousins back in 2008, and the fresh eggs are partly what encouraged my dad to rescue the warrens. That and the constant begging of myself and my two brothers for new pet (we wanted a hamster, but admittedly, our chickens are probably much nicer, and they don't make the house smell!).

As I mentioned, my dad is a fulltime farmer, who doesn't get a day off, unless we're on holiday (yes, he has to work on Christmas too) and my mom is a Primary (elementary) School teacher. My brothers and I are still currently in education.

We live in Wales, UK, but we love visiting the USA.

Thanks for reading my introduction
