Here is anoth pic of C cause he’s a weirdo and won’t stand straight lol named him gooberMay I get opinions on these three BCM Cockerels?
cockerel A is super class the best one and the more correct of the 3 .May I get opinions on these three BCM Cockerels?
Very pretty boys you have.We have decided to work with BCM and we purchased some chicks from a breeder near us. Our babies are now 4 months old and I am working on developing my eye for the breed. These are our Cockerel choices from what we have already purchased. I admit these are not the best photos. I will work on getting more photos!
I am looking for the best for SOP but I am aware they all have faults and they all have a lot more growing to do. We also purchased 7 pullets.
This is heavy bloom, the outer layer of the egg. The correct amount makes the Marans egg nice and glossy, but too much makes them purple and cloudy. Will likely reduce as she gets used to the laying cycle. One of my BBS girls is laying purple eggs. I have had 3 so far, and today’s egg is a beautiful ombré.
I believe the hen is the blue copper Marans. It could be the splash but I see the blue near the nests more often. I hope it’s the blue; would love to breed for that heavy bloom to continue.
pic 1: The Isbar laid the green speckled and the blue copper Marans (Clover) is who I think laid the purple.
