I'm from central Ohio and we just got our 1st flock (11 one-week old leghorn chicks that our pastor gave to us after Easter Sunday) this past Monday! We live on 5 acres and so far have the brood tub and all set up, but still trying to decide on coops and if we should vaccinate our little flock. Any help on the size coop we should get and thoughts on vaccinations would be welcome! Looking forward to farm fresh eggs in a few months (from what I've read, 6 months?)!

! Pleased you joined us! Personally, I don't get vaccinated chicks nor do I vaccinate them afterwards. I feed a medicated starter for about 3 weeks - it doesn't cover everything but some things. On coops, visit the Coops section if see if a certain style or design appeals to you. Good luck to you!
