Hello! I am new to this site, and I am new to chickens as well! Currently, me and my family have 5 chickens, and we hope to get more if the winter goes well!
We have three chickens who are about 5 months old, 1 that is 4, and the last is about 3. In order of oldest to youngest, we have a Plymouth Barred Rock rooster named "Ash", a hen (who we do not know the breed of) named "Habi" (short for Habanero), a white crested black Polish hen named "Ludwig", a Rhode Island red names "Rusty", and last but not least a Golden Laced Polish named "Hershey".
We first intended to get chickens because we eat a lot of eggs, however now that we have raised quite a few from chicks to nearly fully grown we have grown to love our birds almost like pets.
I found this site because I was looking up some tips about issues I have had with my chickens, and sadly there have been a lot.
