Hi I'm new

I live in Tasmania, Australia, on a beef farm. I have about 12 chickens, no roosters, muscovy ducks at times and a one year owner of a pair of Chinese geese. I got onto this site from looking for solutions for raising a lone gosling. The others died due to a huge downpour that occurred during their hatching and I saved this one. I had to bathe it in warm water and dry with a hair dryer. It has, after two nights, become quite alert and active. I have already found some good information and hope to find more. Thanks for having me.
:welcome
Hi Anita :frow Four hens are in my suburban backyard in Adelaide. Love Tassie, so beautiful. Hope the gosling continues healthy.

Thanks everyone, You probably won't believe this, but after two nights of looking after my gosling, and having read some information here, I decided to try and put the gosling with its parents and watch. They all made friends and I left them for half an hour. They were still all together. I pretended to come in to retrieve the baby and the parents acted concerned so I left them again. Then I made the tough decision to leave them together overnight (Springtime temps). He was still picking around happily with them in the morning and for two after that. The real revelation was when we spotted him coming out from his mother's wing up onto her back one evening. SO HAPPY! I check him each day. Rain coming today, so we will see. But I expect he is in good hands/wings. :)

Hi and welcome to BYC ! One question do you folks still have any of those giant freshwater lobsters . I know they were protected just wonder how they are doing ? :thumbsup
Yes. We do. We have some on our farm - never eaten. Once we moved some downstream though (not far) as they were burrowing out the side of our weir which supplies water to our place.
