Hello, I'm Saphira.

I live in washington with a large flock of bantam chickens (plus one Sicilian Buttercup), 18 ducks, and 3 guinea chicks. I've been keeping chickens for as long as I can remember (but I'm still learning loads!), and last year I showed some of my birds at the county fair for the first time. I am part of a poultry 4-H group and loving it! I recently converted my mixed flock of bantams and standard chickens to all bantams, although I kept my sicilian buttercup. (Rest assured, the standard-size birds all went to good homes!) Here are the chicken breeds and varieties that I keep:

My Purebred Chickens:

Belgian Bearded D'uccle Bantam
Varieties: Mille Fleur, Porcelain, Splash, and Self Blue.

Cochin Bantam
Varieties: Red, Barred, and Partridge.

Bantam Brahma
Varieties: Light.

Bantam Easter Egger
Varieties: Blue

Sebright Bantam
Varieties: Golden.

Old English Game Bantam
Varieties: I am unsure of what varieties my old english game bantams are.

Rhode Island Red Bantam

Sicilian Buttercup

My Mixed-breed Chickens:

Red Cochin Bantam + Mille Fleur Belgian Bearded D'uccle

Red Cochin Bantam + Mille Fleur Belgian Bearded D'uccle + Sicilian Buttercup

Golden Sebright Bantam + Sicilian Buttercup

My Prebred Ducks:

Khaki Campbell

Buff

My Mixed-breed Ducks:

My Other Birds:

Variety: I am unsure of the variety. These birds are still chicks

I'm very excited to be a part of BYC!

Sounds like a nice flock. I've been thinking about doing 4-H as well with chickens to start my 3 year old daughter in it and get her seasons before she's old enough to do it herself. Welcome to BYC
