Heya I'm Tricia
(call me "Abi" or Trish)
I already love this site so much- I think I'll be spending more time that I thought here....
I'm the proud mum of Twenty-Eight feathered beauties, of eleven different breeds.
I started raising chickens in April of 2011- starting with six little fluff-balls I picked up from tractor supply. Four of which were Rhode-Island Reds and two were Leghorns.
The next year I ordered sixteen more pullets from Murray McMurray Hatchery. Five Australorps, five Plymouth Barred Rocks, and six Buff Orpingtons.
I wasn't actually planning on getting any in Spring of 2013, but my neighbors surprised me by giving me a lovely pair of Nankin Bantam chicks! *squeals* The one turned out to be my first rooster
I keep them separate from the standard size breeds, and they have their own little coop that my Dad was kind enough to build for me.
So that brings me to this year.
My existing flock has dwindled to Fourteen, not including the two Bantams. The neighborhood dogs got two before I could afford extra netting, two more died of age just this year. The other four died of injuries or cold :'(
But on the bright side-
I just got twelve new babies from Tractor Supply!
Six are standard size Golden Comets. The other six are assorted bantams.
Thanks for reading this painfully long introduction :3
