I have 6 pet chickens that I absolutely love and adore. They run around my house wearing diapers and are spoiled. They do the most adorable things and even make noises that mimic the human language. They know commands like up up, stay stay, no, down down, no bullying, be nice, and so on. They listen quite well and stay off of the kitchen countertops and any other surfaces they should avoid. They live with three ex-feral cats peacefully. The cats are intimidated by the birdies more than the dog. Three types of predators on predators living peacefully. I am super proud of my babies and have joined this site because I need assistance taking care of their health. I used to own 9 chickens but 3 died. 1 died of Heatstroke and she had wry neck plus signs of mericks disease, 1 was horribly killed by a hawk in front of others who became traumatized by it, and 1 died of malnutrition because of thrush preventing food going down Nystatin didn't seem to help even though it was not a serious case. So I have joined this site to have some questions answered. I live in an area with little to no health care help for chickens. Most of the people out here treat them like livestock. Sick. Cull. Bad egg production. Cull. It sucks.
