Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca, I'm a new member! I live in a suburb of Montreal, that is kind of in the country but still is a town. I live with my hubby and 2 kids. (4 and 2) Here's my intro questionnaire!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
i am! We are getting 4 hens in 4 days and we've never had chickens before. We've lived in the city for the past 13 years so we're beginning our homesteading adventure.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None, but will have 4 soon!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Not sure yet, will choose at the farm according to what they have left
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Return to our roots, kids being involved with nature, animals. Eggs. Spending time at home, nature
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I'm a flight attendant, so I travel quite a bit! I also love to garden and cook
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm 34, my husband and I have lived all over Canada in the last 15 years: Vancouver, Toronto and now in the Montreal area (where we both grew up). We have 2 kids who are 4 and 2.
I found out about this site after posting on reddit and finding it quite rough! People are mean and you feel defeated pretty quick. But someone told me this community was very helpful and kind! Looking forward to hearing from you all!
