Hey everyone! I am Sara and I am a new chick mommy. I unfortunately found this site because I have been having issues with my chicks pecking at each other. Hopefully I can learn a lot from you guys because it sounded super easy to do this and now I am second guessing if I want to have babies anymore (chick babies lol)

Nice to meet you Sara. Glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens. Have you visited the Learning Center? It's a great place to start a chicken education. I also recommend "Raising Backyard chicks. Pecking is what chicks and chickens do. They don't have hands, so they use their beaks to test every thing. Also around 2-3 weeks of age chicks start sorting out the pecking order. This is to determine their status in their little flock. As long as there is no blood shed, or bullying some chicks away from food or water - it's something that will work itself out.

Thank you for the reply!!! I am going to post in the raising backyard chicken section. I do have bullies... I have to. They are always flying over each other and shoving each other out of the way with food and water. :( idk will be posting in a minute and you'll see the whole story

I have a 3.5 gallon water thing I kept raising the height on from the floor up as they grow and did the same with the food and it's a ten pounder... They all have enough room around it they are just greedy and mean
