Thank your for your advise. I do love the Omlet Eglu's I have been looking at them and would love them for my retired girls but unfortunately I do not have the funds for one at the momentOf course any person who has made the mistake in the past will tell you this- have the coop before the hens! It’s very important. I love the Omlette run of your looking for a safe option that’s worth the money it’s what I use and after almost a year of use I have lost no hens and the structure is still perfect. It also allows you access into the run because of the height and you can choose different sizes based on you chickens needs. You could also build your own. Plans are everywhere on the internet (I should also mention it took a long time for my Omlette run to arrive bc I live in the us but they deliver to uk to) just make sure what your making is the safest option. Never line the bottom in wire because it can damage your girls feet. Spend as much time with them as you can and bring treats out to them. After a lot of time they will warm up to you and eventually enjoy your company and possibly your lap! Spoil them the first few weeks with mealworms scratch and a good quaility layers feed topped off with an hour of supervised free ranging every day
