Spoil them the first few weeks with mealworms scratch and a good quaility layers feed topped off with an hour of supervised free ranging every day

Thank your for your advise. I do love the Omlet Eglu's I have been looking at them and would love them for my retired girls but unfortunately I do not have the funds for one at the moment :hit.

Of course I understand. They are expensive and probably the most expensive option there is. But that doesn’t exactly mean it’s the best option. You could easily build a super safe run for less and give it as much personality and accessories for your own birds needs since know one knows your chickens more than you (of course you should meet them first)
