Hi I'm soon to be a new chicken mum

Hi I am re-homing 4 ex caged chickens in just 9 days! :wee
So excited but lots to do and learn. I live in an old farmhouse in Shropshire, UK. I have three children (well not so little now) the youngest is going off to University in September! We have a lovely rescue dog Sammi, a Kelpie x Collie. My fiancee and I love old cars and are currently refurbishing a 1966 VW Beetle and we have a VW Thing too (just doing some welding then it will be back on the road :))

Things to do:
I need to build a coop, movable hopefully.
I need supplies.
And to learn lots!
Of course any person who has made the mistake in the past will tell you this- have the coop before the hens! It’s very important. I love the Omlette run of your looking for a safe option that’s worth the money it’s what I use and after almost a year of use I have lost no hens and the structure is still perfect. It also allows you access into the run because of the height and you can choose different sizes based on you chickens needs. You could also build your own. Plans are everywhere on the internet (I should also mention it took a long time for my Omlette run to arrive bc I live in the us but they deliver to uk to) just make sure what your making is the safest option. Never line the bottom in wire because it can damage your girls feet. Spend as much time with them as you can and bring treats out to them. After a lot of time they will warm up to you and eventually enjoy your company and possibly your lap! Spoil them the first few weeks with mealworms scratch and a good quaility layers feed topped off with an hour of supervised free ranging every day
