Hi everyone,

I've been reading the forums since we got our first day-old chicks in January. Thought I would introduce myself! I moved with partner & toddler from a city in CA to a little farm in NC last year, and we're slowly adding some animals, starting with chickens.

We're brand new to chickens - got 6 pullets (we hope): 1 barred rock, 1 Ameraucana (or so we were told; I have my doubts now), 2 red stars, 1 speckled sussex, and 1 black austrolorp.

Thanks for all the advice so far, and for future advice to come.
