hi thanksThey appear old enough to manage without the heat lamp as long as it's not too windy (drafty) in their shed. IF it is a bit drafty, look for ways to reduce the draft with some inexpensive plastic sheeting or even an opened up plastic trash bag to cover the areas that allow in too much wind.
Thats depends on the climate again. Here in rhode island at this time of year ththey'd only be out an hour or so depending on weather their acting cold (huddling in a single group together) or not.I think thats the temperature outside
I brought two thermomters
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wireles...216832?hash=item342dc57d80:g:CFQAAOSwsNNfESg3 and the batteries would run out in a day
I brouh another thermomter https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Marina-Aquarium-Thermometer-With-Suction-Cup-Fish-Tank-Water-Temperature-Meter/373079118080?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 and it didnt stick to the plastic container, so I put it in my room, then it shattered into pieces

the temp outside is 21 c right now, the chiks are under the shade, the chiks ar eby themsleves outside
That shed setup looks fine, you have a nice deep space on the one end there that's totally enclosed, and open run space on the other.
It is totally normal for the chicks to huddle together, it's part of the flock mentality.
It's ok if the chicks are huddling for a little while- it's just what they do, but if they keep it up you should probably either try to see if you can use the heat lamp, or you can put hot water bottles it there. They can huddle against them to keep them warm. I wouldn't try and put them in the shed yet with the big chickens- they might get pecked. But now that they are bigger you may want to get them either a bigger ben or make a makeshift pen for them. What are you feeding them? Nourishing them better can help them stay warmer. I hope this helps.

You sound like a very caring and responsible young person. Well done you for looking out for these chicks, seeking advice here, and taking steps to give them better living conditions. Your parents should be super proud of you.
