I love them too. When I walk out into their yard - they surround me and talk to me. They even let me pick them up for a petting. I am beginning to think I might have a rooster or 2. Two of them have darked combs. From what I read here some of them might take longer to start laying.
Soon with the cold and time change we will keep a light on in the coop.
Do yours lay all year???

They started laying in October of last year and they have been laying year round so far. Last winter I gave them supplemental light, I'm not sure if I will again this year or not. In the winter with the decreased daylight hours their laying will slow down, but if you give them extra light they will continue to lay a normal amount of eggs instead of slowing down.
