(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Had chickens for years, like the clean eggs..(Inside), plus they eat a lot of bugs. We haven' t had many fleas or mosquitoes since they got here.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10 right now City says we can have 14 per acre so since we are at an acre can have 4 more. When a chicken goes broody we get some fert eggs for her and we go from there. This last batch we got 2 Roosters. They don't fight but are too noisy and we will likely get complaints or they will disappear, like we have had many do. We have coons and coyotes but had an Alpaca for some time till he got in the road and died. We can see the coop from our front window now and we run red blinking solar lights we got from Amazon.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Barred Rock, Leghorn, Foghorn leghorn (endangered) Americana with fluffy head hair. 1 black n red the rooster have balded on top a bit. But I think she's laying now. There are three spots they lay now, we know of. We're getting several a day after 0 to 1 in the winter.
