Glad you joined us! I've done what you've done, sold some extra eggs on the side, word got out and I had to get more chickens to keep up with the demand and the demand just grew! LOL I never did catch up... Some tips:

- Ask everyone you know to save their egg boxes and trays for you. It will save you a bit of money and also ask people you sell eggs to, to give the boxes back.
- Buy feed in bulk. It works out WAY cheaper!
- Once your hens are laying properly, write down each day how many eggs you get, so you have an average number. Then take fixed weekly orders for around 70-80% of the eggs you get. I.e. if you get on average 30 eggs a day, take orders for 18-24 only, this will give you some wiggle room if the hens take a day off due to bad weather, or something. It happens... Sell the surplus eggs that your family doesn't use to anyone who drops in wanting eggs. That happens too
