About a year ago our two kiddos asked if we could buy some chicks from TSC. It was an easy decision and over the next month or so we found ourselves knee deep in adorable fluffy chicks! Right now we have 18 free range chickens. We have a Cinnamon Queen rooster. The hens are Silver laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Dominique, Ancona, Bantam and Ameracauna breeds. We don't have much experience with chickens so I searched for basic chicken info and found your site which has been SUPER helpful. We are an outdoorsy family so chickens are perfect for our lifestyle. Unless its raining outside our chicken obsessed family including our 4 dogs can be found hanging out with our fluffy dinosaurs in the backyard.
 
Welcome to BYC, most of us suffer from some variation of chickenIwantMoreities. I raised them throughout my teen years and got back into them a handful of years ago as a therapy hobby for my PTSD. The only thing I've worried more over is my daughter coming of age. Very worth it and now I find myself obsessed with building coops and hutches as a hobby. I don't even have enough chickens to fill them..so they just sit on my lawn. But, who cares!
