thanks for the info on how to stop hens from plucking others feathers hope that they will work for me. I already give them yoguart and sunflower seeds. Also cottege cheese would giving them worms help stop this ?

. I am not sure if you are asking if giving worms to the chickens would help with feather picking....???? Sorry, have not have ANY coffee yet...I don't give any worms but mealworms and sometimes waxworms (if I have more than the geckos can eat in a short time)...I le them run loose in the yard a few hours a day and they certainly eat any worm or bug that is in sight or can be scratched up. I think just giving feed for their age/purpose should help to keep them from getting deficiencies agiving some variety of 'treats' like you do and maybe access to bugs, worms, grass, weeds etc should help with nutrition and to keep them from getting bored. Chickens that are busy scratching for stuff are hopefully not bored enough to start picking feathers/on each other.....Not sure if that's what you're looking for...

thanks for the info.I cant allow the hens to run free as I live in the city and the folks next door might not like to see the kids running around in their yard and scratching and getting run over by cars. They have a fairly large run to be in all day and then a coop to go into at night to be out of the weather and keep the cats and other things away from them.
