We are new to chickens, but have an old coop we are trying to shore up.
I'll try to put the picture here.
It is on cement, and my first question is, is cement floor ok?
My family is my 2 adult girls, 1 son-in-law, 3 grandchildren ages 9 to 13.

Hi, it's nice to have an old coop already in place you can remodel. I agree with the other greeters, you'll want some sort of material on the concrete floor so the chickens will have something softer to land on when they jump off a roost. Thanks for joining us!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

That looks like you're going to have a great coop!

So others solved your flooring issue. Let's move on to that woods behind your coop. Are you planning to build them a run or free-range them? If you don't see predators now, bring in chickens and they'll find them. Just seeing if you need some ideas with that or if you've got plans already.

As you keep working on it, if you have specific questions, we have a great forum for that called Coop & Run - Design, Construction, & Maintenance.

We're glad you're here!
