Hello,
I'm Molly. I do not have any chickens yet I'm new to this. I live in Northern California, i'm in the central valley. I've never had chickens before so I came here to continue my research and education on the topic. I'm hoping to meet/chat with people that keep chickens.

I have three children two of my three are super excited about the idea of having chickens and getting fresh eggs. I have a teenager who is a foodie he loves the concept of fresh ingredients.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: Find Your State Thread and the Learning Centre is a good place to continue your research.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! I'm new to the group as well having joined a few months ago (for the same reasons as yourself), and have been a first time "chicken parent" for the past three weeks. There is heaps of valuable information available on BYC along with some incredibly helpful and friendly folks to bounce questions off of. Enjoy searching/researching the threads for all things related to backyard poultry! :)
