An important thing to know before getting silkies is: they are extremely difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age - sometimes you need to wait till they lay an egg or crow to be certain. If someone offers you young silkies as being a particular sex - skidaddle out of town , unless you don't care if you get cockerels.
