We also have 3 RI pullets 10 weeks old the very beautiful dark Auburn is Ginger, the strawberry blonde is Chickie and the runt in between is Sienna. Sorry I seem to only have a partial pic of Chickie roosting on the far leftt.

Our 4 weakers are 3 Black Jersey Giants Jersey Girl, Pretzel, Squirt, and 1 Blue Cochin named Blue. We have 10 total in our flock right now.

I should have known. Don’t mind that they are EE. We love them so much. I’m a regular customer at our feed store and let them know I know their Hatchery Is passing EE for Americauna’s. Why do you think Alphie isn’t crowing like Happy? My heart is sad. We can handle one Rooster but not two. Happy Feet has a great personality. We will have to look for a good home for Alphie . Thank you

Color patterning, especially the shiny orange/red wing splotches are generally male specific. Not 100 %.

How did you determine Alphie as a cockerel? Was it the feathering? I wish I had the experience to see the right shapes? Alphie’s feathers are so rounded and pretty. The hackles because they are all black are hard to tell. I want to be better at this. I have my receipt for 3 pullets and if 2 of 3 are cockerels or maybe according to the other response 3 of 3 I’m a little upset. And maybe should get my chicks elsewhere. We wanted egg layers for my large family. And it’s soo easy to fall in love with them too, then have to give them away. I guess If I want to do this... I will have to be tougher and wiser like you all...
