Hi, new to chickens and needing help

Thanks for all the welcomes and advice.
Araucana16, that sounds like a really good idea and exactly what I'm going to go ahead and do.
Yesterday I went out and got some more hens - I bought a beautiful Buff Orpington hen, which laid an egg shortly after I got her home, 2 Potchefstroem Koekoek hens and 6 Leghorn chicks, a few days old.
The hens are all together now and the roosters have been separated for the time being.
The Australorp hen seems to have been appointed 'top hen' and her and the Orpington hen have made it their duty to look after the chicks - so sweet to watch!
I'm also getting a silkie hen today.
How does that work with the silkies - i'm assuming they are more broody and as such are used to incubate any fertile eggs?
Yesterday I collected my first eggs! :D
One from the Australorp, the other from the Orpington.
What a sense of satisfaction it brings!
And they just seem to taste so much better when you've had a hand in it.
So the plan for now is get as many hens as I can and then after a while introduce the roosters.
I they still don't get on I'll separate them into 2 flocks, one rooster each - one for the garden and the other for a coop I'm building

Sorry for the super long reply!

Silkies are broody a TON! They go into a nest, see the eggs, sit on them, and never get off; that is until the chicks hatch.

Thanks - Yes, my flock is coming along fantastically and I've been given a lot of great advice.
I'm really enjoying keeping chickens (and they seem to like me) and getting to enjoy eggs that taste way better than store bought is a bonus!

Thanks Aracauna, I reserved and paid for a silkie hen, only to find it had been 'resold' to the wrong person by mistake.
Hopefully I can find one soon before the flock is too settled and it becomes difficult to add new hens.
At the moment though I've been able to add more hens without any problems.
My Orpington hen is a bit nasty, she comes over to give any newcomer a little peck but then pretty much leaves them alone.

So now my flock consists of:
-Black Australorp Rooster
-Black Australorp Hen (she is the top female in the hierarchy and the rooster has mated with her and roosts with her)
-Buff Orpington hen
-2 Potchefstroem Koekoek hens (a South African breed)
-3 cross breed hens (called Boschvelder's here, a cross between 3 indigenous chickens - Venda, Ovambo and I forget the third)
-2 very cute crossbreed bantam hens

The 2nd rooster is alone as I can only keep him in the courtyard at the moment until his pen is built. I don't really want loads of chickens in my courtyard and thought that he would bully just a single hen as per the advice given.
He was sold to me as a Boschvelder and is a really beautiful bird.
He must weight about 6kg - he's quite a bit bigger than the Australorp rooster but much more gentle.
I would love to create my own breed using him for size and gentle temperament and have thought about crossing him to some Brahma hens.
Brahma's seem to be the biggest chicken breed in South Africa, I don't think we get Jersey Giants here
