Hi! New to chickens

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got chicken eggs March 1st, and they hatched March 21 and 22

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
11 babies

(3) What breeds do you have?
This is where i need help
Lavender orpington, buff orpington, Amauracauna? Icelandic ....

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Im so new, but so far I'm aaddicted (and in love)

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We have 2 big dogs, 2 crazy cats, 2 kids, 200 fish (or it feels like it) we are outdoors obsessed, and want/need a farm!!!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I guess i just did that, oops.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been typing questions into google a lot in the last two weeks, and have made it to these forums a lot.

Unless, you are going to keep the animals away, they could kill the chicks. Cats will steal one, a dog will obliterate one (sorry for making that sound graphic), make sure the kids don't hurt them (because I know kids, and they'll want to touch them), and if the fish are big, they might even eat the chicks, they could also drown in deep water. Not to push all this on at once, but be careful!

Haha, thanks. We are new to chicks, but not animals. Kids are 17 and 13 so I'm not too worried.
Chicks are in their own room, in a brooder.
Cats aren't allowed in thenrokm without supervision, and they aren't allowed outside, so once chicks live outdoors, theyll be safe from them. As well they will have a safe enclosure to protect from other possible animals that may visit (racoons ... orher peoples cats)
Biggest fish we have is a dwarf gourami, and although they try to jump like whales in the ocean, they fail to reach the chickets.
