(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes and No. I grew up with chickens but that was 30 years ago. We just got some chickens a few months ago from our neighbor and it didn't work out. They were eaten by wildlife due to not having an appropriate set up.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 14.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Columbian Wyandotte Bantam Chicks
Barred Cochin Standard Chicks
Blue Rosecomb Bantam Chicks
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Getting to learn about them and care for them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading. That's about it.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with 2 kids. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 bird and 1 snake. The snake was for my youngest child and has been an interesting experience. LOL
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC by a google search and I just learned about it. Looking through the forums I felt this would be a good safe place to learn more about chickens.
