Hi Me and my 5 year old granddaughter are new to raising chickens. We was at Tractor Supply a couple weeks ago and she fell in love with the baby chicks so we decided to give it a try. We will be starting to build our brooder boxes tomorrow and plan on getting our chicks next week. we plan on getting 15 chicks to start with and go from there. We both are are very excited to get started and are looking forward to this new adventure together. Just wanted to say hello and that we think BYC is really awesome.

I have a feeling that you and your grand daughter are going to be great at chicken math.

And yes, they grow big and fast! Always make things bigger than you thik you need when it comes to chickens. Especially when you start with chicks.
 
thanks i am looking forward to the challenge and my granddaughter hasnt stopped talking about it since i told her we was going to give it a try

thanks i have been reading a lot i have been on here every night since i found you guys reading everything i can. BYC is so awsome. you guys have so much knowledge to offer.
