First question. Can a 9/10 week old roo fertilize eggs; if you know what I mean?

Balshazar got into the Hen house during the middle of the night. I’m wondering if Shirley, Grace or Mercy have been fertilized.

Help!

In answer to the first question, no. I have had cockerels that age crow before but they were Jaerhons. They tried to mate by about 13 or 14 weeks but they are an extremely early maturing breed and were most likely firing blanks.

I'm trying to teach myself caponizing. I have a kit and as I butcher roosters, I'm practicing on them. When I think I have it down, I'll start on appropriate aged cockerels that I know I won't be using for breeding.
