Just wanted to introduce myself to the site! Happy to be here and excited to start my journey into to world of backyard chickens. Our chickens will be for eggs only and our city only permits us to have the maximum of 5 hens. We haven’t purchased any chicks yet or even started building our coop. The plan is to learn as much as we can before we make any of those commitments. With that said, I am so happy to be a part of this online community and can’t wait to start learning from all of you! TIA!

Hello! I'm a newbie myself, we got 6 black australorps and they are about 3 weeks old. I gave them their first treat (a boiled egg) and it was so funny to watch them eat something new. We haven't started on a coop as of yet. We are working on a design I want something cute and simple and of course my husband thinks we should just go with simple. But, they are ladies and well I think they would want something cute...lol

Welcome to BYC from a new member herself
