First, I'd like to say thank you for all of the help on this site! It's incredibly valuable for new fowl owners like me. :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Got chicks this June and ducklings as of a week ago!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 9 chickens and 4 ducks

(3) What breeds do you have?

A little of everything - I wanted to see what the different breeds were like! In twos: silkies, australorps, buff orpingtons, and gold-laced wyandottes. My roo is a brahma. We have quite a few hawks in the area so he seemed like a good protector (and he's surprisingly mellow even for a brahma)
The ducklings are khakis (and hopefully mostly female!)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Their personalities, learning more about animal husbandry and the care that goes into keeping them healthy and happy.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I like to garden, but have to plan it out for next year on our new property. Repurposing (my coop is a retro camper that I'm trying to half restore while keeping it chicken friendly)

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am the crazy animal lady. We recently downsized to a house under 1000 square feet where we share space with 4 dogs (5 if I have my mom's dog) a cat and a rabbit. Once the ducklings are big enough, they'll be in their own coop in the chicken run :)
Eventually, I'd like to help small farms/homesteads implement some of the business practices I help put into place now. (Email automation, better social media for the products, websites, etc.)

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I've been looking at the site while researching chickens for the last 2+ years. We couldn't have chickens in our old neighborhood and that was part of why we moved. I joined today after worrying about my ducklings seeming a little off and found helpful solutions to their dietary and brooder needs!
