Hi! Still learning chicken lady in OKC

Hello, we moved to 5 acres just outside of OKC about 2 years ago and started collecting animals! My family lives on one side of a duplex and my mother on the other. First camera her dog, then my dog, then her other dog, then my other dog, then her first dog's 10 puppies (courtesy of the neighbors cattle dog), then my daughters 6 chickens she raised from chicks who were all killed by my first dog. Then my mom got 10 goats and we have only lost 2. I bought 6 more grown chickens and was gifted an awesome, big rooster from another neighbor!

One of my favorite parts is building different things for these animals, like feeders, shelters, toys. The goats always find a way around my contraptions. My dog is still obsessed with the chickens, but they have survived 3 months now!!

And thats my chicken story!

Hi, sorry for your losses. Free ranging has its hazards for sure...maybe keeping your flock contained to a large covered run would work out better? Best wishes.
