Hi, I've been a lurker for awhile and appreciate the community. I have a question (coming in separate thread) but wanted to make an intro post first. Thanks for having such a cool community!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes. My house came with a coop and a few chickens. I've owned the house, & chickens, for 2.5 years. I think that makes me a novice
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
2 hens
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm not sure! They're sweet, and a light brown color. They lay light brown eggs.
I had wyandottes but lost them to a predator.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love animals in general. Of course love the eggs. I like that tending to the girls is a great chore for my kids. Also, Looking out back and seeing the hens calms me ...
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Family time with my wife and 3 little kids
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Happily married, happily raising 3 kiddos.
