Hello! My name is Sarah. I have two hens right now. Iāve had them about 1 year. They are older though not sure what age as I took them in from someone else who couldnāt keep them.
Before these two hens I raised two other hens a Black Copper Maran and a Leghorn. They unfortunately passed away, one by predator and the other by natural causes.
One of my hens lays 1 beautiful light brown egg every day and the other stopped laying eggs at her previous home due to being attacked by a dog and traumatized severely. She has recently started enjoying my attention again after me having her a year.
I love that these girls eat all the bugs in my yard. They are so interesting to watch and surprise me by how intelligent they are every day.
I am happily married with two daughters. We have 3 dogs, a huge Pitbull Terrier who loves chickens and is very sweet with them all and two Rat-chiās small little pups who donāt mind chickens in their yard. I am currently in the process of opening a restaurant.
I heard about BYC because every time I google a question I have about my chickens, the answer comes from a BYC thread. I realize this is the place to look for information.
